ノーズワーク開催！
スターフォレストキャンプ葉山で、初めて「ノーズワーク」を開催しました🐶
ノーズワークとは？
犬の得意な「嗅覚」を使って、隠された特定のにおい（ハイド）を探し出すドッグスポーツです。
飼い主さん（ハンドラー）が、わんちゃんのちょっとしたサインを読み取り、「見つけたよ！」という合図（アラート）を出します。
もともとは保護犬のストレス軽減を目的に生まれた競技で、子犬からシニア犬まで、年齢や体格に関係なく楽しめるのが魅力。遊び感覚で取り組めるので、心と体の健康づくりにもつながると言われています。

今回は、RV Bサイトと室内スペースを使って競技を実施。
わんちゃんが多い葉山ということもあり、全国からたくさんの参加者さんが集まりました🐕🐩🐕🦺
キャンプ場に遊びに来てくれるわんちゃんや飼い主さんにも、ぜひ「ノーズワーク」を知ってもらい、今後チャレンジしてもらえたら嬉しいです。
また、最近はキャンプ場の貸し切り利用も増えてきています！

First-Ever "Nosework" Event at Star Forest Camp Hayama! 🐶
We recently hosted our very first Nosework event right here at the campsite!
What is Nosework? It is an exciting dog sport that taps into a dog's incredible sense of smell to find hidden scents (hides). The owner (the handler) observes the dog’s subtle body language and gives an "alert" signal once the scent is found.
Originally developed to help reduce stress in shelter dogs, this sport is now loved by dogs of all sizes and ages—from energetic puppies to calm seniors. Since it feels like a fun game, it's a fantastic way to promote both mental and physical well-being.
Event Highlights
This time, we utilized our RV B-site and indoor spaces to hold the competition. Hayama is a town full of dog lovers, and we were thrilled to welcome participants and their furry friends from all over Japan! 🐕🐩🐕🦺
We hope our regular camping guests and their dogs will discover the joy of Nosework and perhaps give it a try in the future.
